Paul DiSclafani is an award-winning columnist for the Anton News Group, which publishes local newspapers in Nassau County on Long Island, in New York. As a weekly columnist for the Massapequa Observer since 2016, his column “Long Island Living” has garnered several writing awards.
The Press Club of Long Island (PCLI) recognized “Long Island Living” in the “Best Column” category in both 2018 (Third Place) and 2020 (Second Place). His essay “My Stupid House” also won a PCLI Award for “Humor” in 2020.
The New York Press Association (NYPA) voted “Long Island Living” as one of the best humor columns in all of New York State (Third Place) in 2020.
Paul has also had several essays published in Newsday as part of their “Expressway” series.
“Burning Through the West Coast”, which was released in October of 2020, was his first novel.
A Massapequa resident since 1967, Paul had his roots in the East New York section of Brooklyn, growing up surrounded by a large Italian family. Many of his columns and musings recall family gatherings and touch on all aspects of life today.
A married father of two, Paul and his wife Barbara have been blessed with two great kids, James and Kevin.
